To all students, faculty, and staff members:
Since February 4, 2020, Keio University has established the Infection Response Center for COVID-19, collected and summarized data on the coronavirus disease, determined warnings on preventing infections and various necessary measures for its students, faculty, and staff members, and made every effort to make these known via the university website, etc. While at first, access to the university's campuses was completely prohibited and in principle only online classes were held, over time, some face-to-face classes were reintroduced after thoroughly enacting measures to prevent infections, and a transition has also been made toward hybrid-style classes that combine both face-to-face and online teaching. From this academic year, Keio has cautiously proceeded with the reopening of its campuses and around half of its classes are now conducted in person.
Under President Itoh, who took office on May 28, 2021, collaboration with the Keio University Hospital and Keio University Health Center is intensifying even more, and a new Response Center and Administrative Office system will be launched as detailed below. Basic guidelines and 3 policies regarding infection prevention measures have also been formulated toward further opening up the university campuses from the Fall Semester.

Keio University will take full advantage of the government’s program for workplace vaccinations for COVID-19 and conduct intensive group vaccinations centered on students, faculty, and staff members over the period from June 21 to the end of August based on the consent of each individual, with the aim of attaining early group immunity.
〇 Recommendation and continuation of PCR testing
Alongside vaccinations and even after their completion, Keio University will continue to recommend that students, faculty, and staff members utilize PCR tests and urge that they remain vigilant regarding the prevention of infections. In particular, we want our students who participate in extracurricular activities such as those of student clubs and the Athletic Association to aim for the safe and lively implementation of their activities through the voluntary use of PCR tests. In addition, the university will create an environment that can be appropriately used by anyone who is not vaccinated due to personal circumstances and students planning to return home for the vacation.
*The university will take care to ensure that people who cannot be vaccinated or undergo PCR testing for various reasons, including their physical circumstances, will not be disadvantaged through discrimination, exclusion, or loss of opportunities as a result of this.
